Liam Maher - MGRT

architectural design and illustration for Menswhere

Sometimes insanely talented friends invite you to step over the threshold and become part of their world. When Liam Maher and Jennifer Maher first asked me to design a theoretical "Nomadic guild hall" for the Militant Guild of Rural Tailors a thousand questions came to mind, many iterations flooded my dusty drawing board, before one proposal made it into this beautiful book. Thank you both for presenting me with such a challenging and rewarding brief, for believing that I would conjure an engaging mobile space to host the sacred rituals of the tailors and for welcoming me into this prestigious guild. This beautiful book digs into the lost history of the militant guild of rural tailors, illustrated by over 200 images capturing garments, objects and artifacts. My work stands alongside the creative endeavors of artists I am humbled to be amongst but Liam can tell this story better than I ever can.... read more about the book, it's exhibitions and the start of it's global impact here

It truly is an inspiring and beautiful book to own, if you might like a copy you can order one here
